Among the most common technologies driving interest in large vessels are fish meal plants that process fish scraps вЂ“ typically thrown overboard in decades past вЂ“ into fish oil and fish meal. With vessel size restrictions lifted, owners can now opt to build large vessels incorporating machinery that extends their processing capability. Following the moratorium on all large pelagic driftnet fishing vessels ratified internationally in 1991, new fishing regulations focus on catch quotas rather than fishing vessel size restrictions to ensure sustainable fisheries. This is because all the lights (and the doors) are activated by motion sensors, which makes it easy to run straight back through the ship without having to open all the doors along the way. You might notice that parts of the ship are not evenly lit.

Crew members can relax and enjoy the views of space while they enjoy a delicious meal. Interacting with the captain's chair will bring up the Navigation Console, which allows the player to set a ship's destination. These ships are different for each starting Race there are a total of seven ships, one for each race. In Starbound, traveling from planet to planet is done via interstellar ships.
